“After a fantastic first year in 2012, we are back bigger and better! Come on down and join us at Speers Point Park, Sunday 8 September for the 2013 Hunter Memory Walk & Jog. The beautiful Speers Point Park with its lush surroundings and stunning lake is the perfect backdrop for raising awareness and vital funds to support people living with dementia in our community. Surrounded by live entertainment, gorgeous scenery and your loved ones, there is absolutely no better way to get your blood pumping for a good cause. Walk, jog or run up a storm to raise funds for The Hunter Dementia Memory Resource Centre through Alzheimer’s Australia NSW.

With more than 320,000 Australians living with dementia and 100,000 of those in our state alone, it’s a fatal condition that will almost certainly affect us or someone we love in our lifetime.

All funds raised stay here in the Hunter to support local programs and enable us to provide vital support services such as counselling, support groups and education to help families and carers across the Hunter region. These services reduce feelings of isolation and empower people living with dementia and those caring for them. With your help, we can make sure that our support is always available to those who need it.

Thanks for supporting us.”
